CARNEGIE GROUP WITHDRAWS
FROM SCOTTISH PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

The Carnegie Group has confirmed that it is to
withdraw from its partnership agreement with Gleneagles Hotel
and CNBC Sports, the joint venture partners for the Scottish
PGA Championship at Gleneagles.
The Edinburgh based marketing group has changed the focus of
its business to become more client oriented and the event does
not now fit with the company’s long-term strategy.
David D Murray, managing director, Carnegie Group, said, “We
have enjoyed a successful inaugural SPGA Championship at Gleneagles,
however the direction of our business is moving to a more client
focussed approach. We wish the event every success and believe
this is in the interest of all parties.
“Carnegie has now informed its partners and other relevant
organisations including the PGA and European Tour.”
